My love for fishing began at an early age when I used to watch my father clean a five gallon bucket full of bluegill. This part of fishing was more of an after effect of fishing than anything. It always seemed that the majority of the work when fishing came after the fun was over. But this was not always just work. Sitting around watching them scale fish and drink beer brings back many memories that where more of a family gathering than anything. I think the gathering afterwards is what first drew my attention to this sport. There is something funny about the fact that you can go months or even years without seeing someone and one cast of the line instantly ties the two ends back together like the line never broke. Fishing to me is more than just a sport it is more like a past time. There are many hobbies a man could have, but none like fishing. It seems that even the bad days bring good memories and in some cases some down right funny ones at that.

I grew up in one of the best outdoor states in the country and when I say states I'm not lying. I believe I once counted that I moved about thirty five to forty times in my life. My adventures have taken me from some of the best rivers in michigan to the salty waters of New England. I sometimes find myself complaining that my life is horrible and with one cast of the line she reminds me that I got it good. If there is one phrase that sums up my life with mother nature it would be "I am haunted by waters". Though it may seem like a normal statement it is very difficult for me sometimes to explain its true meaning. I guess it is a combination of the first part of my writing with this part. It is family, love, fun and the unexplained feeling you get when its you and mother nature all wrapped up into one.

Have you ever had that gut feeling that you want or need to accomplish something big or be someone great and just cant find that "Something". I have to personally say it is a great felling when you finally find your passion. My "it" is fishing because it sums up my love for everything that I enjoy and cherish in this life. When my love for fishing dies I have a felling I will be dead....but I guess I will never know - Dustin Postma

I hope you enjoy my site and all that I can offer.
